Time calculator

A time calculator adds and subtracts hours, minutes and seconds, measures the duration between two clock times, and multiplies or divides a duration. Eight hours thirty minutes plus one hour forty-five minutes is ten hours fifteen minutes. A 9:00 to 17:30 span is eight hours thirty minutes.

Time calculator FAQ

How do I add more than two durations?

Add a duration row for each block of time. Eight hours thirty minutes plus one hour forty-five minutes is ten hours fifteen minutes — that pair is the default, so you can read it with scripting off.

Can I subtract time, not only add it?

Yes. Set a row to minus. Eight hours minus forty-five minutes is seven hours fifteen minutes. Repeat × N copies that row before the sign is applied, so 20 minutes × 3 is one hour.

How do I find the duration between two clock times?

Use Clock duration. Type 9:00:00 AM to 5:30:00 PM, or switch to 24-hour. Overnight treats an earlier end as the next morning. That is elapsed time, not a payroll hours calculator with lunch.

Can I multiply or divide a duration?

Use Multiply / divide. One hour thirty minutes times three is four hours thirty minutes. Divide uses the same duration and a divisor. Save, CSV, and print need scripting; the default add answer is still in the HTML.
